Who We are

We are a German academy offering German language lessons and Consultancy Services on studying in Germany, Au-pairing, Social year, Apprenticeship , Work and Family reunion. Since our founding, Die Deutsche Schule ZW has had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundational skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their careers in Germany. Die Deutsche Schule Trust is a registered Non Governmental Organisation in Zimbabwe (MA 2044/2020). It is a non-profit organization which owns and operates a registered German language school (Die Deutsche Schule-The German Schoo)l, in the capital city of Harare, Zimbabwe. Known as the best German Language School in Zimbabwe, we provide a range of courses and placements to support students from all backgrounds and levels. Die Deutsche Schule is a bilingual and cultural school.

We offer a bilingual teaching program in German and English. The main goal of the school is to equip the students with the German language and offer career and study guidance and support. We also aim to contribute to a better mutual understanding between Zimbabwe and Germany and to intensify the cooperation of the countries in an effort to provide opportunities for both countries. Our organization strives to support local communities through education. We do this by encouraging young adults to learn the German language in our organization.

In return, students are tasked with teaching school subjects such as science, geography, math, history, biology and other subjects to the people in their communities. When the students have learned the German language, we help them to go to Germany for Apprenticeship, University, Voluntary Social Year (FSJ / BFD) and Au-pair. The school teaches the German language from A1 to B2.

Most of our students are young high school graduates and young professionals interested in gaining experience in Germany in institutions that offer Apprenticeships and Voluntary Social Year experiences. We have over 400 students in our school database who already have knowledge of the German language , some with up to B2 level.

History And Growth

The idea of Die Deutsche Schule was birthed in 2019 after seeing the gap that existed between not only quality German language training but assistance for students in searching and applying for opportunities in Germany. The school was to be setup in a 3-phase execution process. The first phase was setting up German language classes, teaching the language and ensuring that the students passed. The second phase was establishing partnerships with relevant organisations and institutions that would help us to place our students in Germany. Lastly the third phase would be to establish a networks and partnerships here in Zimbabwe with both primary and high schools. In August 2019 the very first A1 Class commenced. It was a big step as three (3) students registered. For the next 10 weeks the students wand tutor worked hard. During this time the first partnership was made as we managed to register all 3 students with the Goethe-Zentrum Harare/Zimbabwe German Society where they wrote the Goethe Zertifikat A1 (Start Deutch 1) examination . They all passed with flying colours. The next class was more promising as a total of 14 students registered for the A1 Class. After that the next class registered a record twenty five students and the rest is history. To date we have enrolled more than 450 students learning from A1 to B2 . When students numbers began to increase the 2nd phase was initiated. We have sought and continue making partnerships with organisations and institutions that will take our students for various programs in Germany. Currently we have partnered with organisations like AWO -Wuttermburg, SFD-Kassel, MediNurse, Dzidzai Edu, Jade Hochschule, MyFamily Au-pair, Ayusa Au-pair Agentur. For the third phase, it started in 2022 and we have managed thus far to partner with Watershed College, Arundel School , Heritage School.
